Project Description

BRIDGE is a computer-based tool to develop and maintain diagnosis systems, covering the development and operational life-cycle of technical applications.

Task-specific diagnosis systems are automatically built and maintained for all users. These diagnosis systems can run independently or in a client-server configuration. Each diagnosis system is built to meet its task-specific performance requirements and directly reuses information obtained by other users.

BRIDGE exploits the advantages of case-based reasoning for simplified application development and maintenance. BRIDGE also exploits task- and application-specific information on the users, operational conditions, available time and resources, configuration, alarm levels, and the uncertainty of occuring faults and failures. BRIDGE analyses and improves the performance of each task-specific diagnosis system for its consistency, accuracy and coverage in operational conditions, and its guaranteed real-time response times.
