Abstract

This report is an appreciation study of a speech recognition system. The system is called VIOS and is developed for the provider of a telephone information system on public transport. VIOS supplies information about travelling by train. During this study hundred people were asked to call VIOS. After calling they had to fill in a questionnaire. Twenty of these hundred people were also interviewed to gather additional information. The results have been evaluated and analysed. On the basis of the data of the questionnaire an appreciation scale was developed. The distribution of the appreciation scale is presented. The questionnaire and appreciation scale are validated on the basis of interviews. The reliability of the questionnaire is computed with help of a second parallel questionnaire (test-retest).
