Abstract

This report is a M.A. thesis on robust parsing for spoken Dutch. First some theory about robust parsing is given and general characteristics of spoken Dutch are described. The implications of these characteristics for a grammar are also given. Two robust parsers are described: one based on Earley's algorithm and one on GLR*. The two parsers have been compared with respect to their performance with sentences of the Delft corpus consisting of public transport information dialogues.
